Mahindra will debut the Scorpio N-based pickup truck in its production-ready guise in 2027 for international markets, including Australia and South Africa
Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing for a series of new launches in the coming years. The facelifted versions of the Scorpio N and Thar 3-door will go on sale in the coming months, while the Vision concept SUVs are slated to go into production in 2027. Meanwhile, the Scorpio N-based pickup truck, which has already been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions, will also debut next year.
The Vision concept SUVs, i.e. S, X, T and SXT, were unveiled in August 2025 and are based on the new NU_IQ platform. Amongst these, the Vision S will likely be one of the first launches, as its near-production test prototypes were spotted recently. As per the company, the newly inaugurated 1,500-acre Nagpur-based production facility will serve as the base for the Vision S.
On the other hand, the production of Vision S and Vision X will initially commence at the brand’s Chakan plant in 2027 and later shift to the Nagpur facility. We can expect the launch of these Vision concept SUVs around the same timeline, with the Vision S derivative leading the pack.
Mahindra also highlighted that 60% of its total demand comes from vehicles over 4 meters long, while the remaining 40% goes for compact sub-meter SUVs. We expect the Indian SUV maker’s future production strategy to align with these numbers. In addition to this, the company also plans to increase the production of the XEV 9S electric SUV by around 3,000-5,000 units in order to meet the increasing demand.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Scorpio N-based pickup truck has been confirmed for a market launch in 2027. The near-production version of the pick-up truck was recently spotted in India, revealing its familiarity with the Scorpio N. It will debut in key international markets first, including Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, while the India launch will follow at a later stage.
Mahindra also announced that the production of LHD (Left Hand Drive) models will commence in 2028, the majority of which will come from the brand’s upcoming Nagpur-based facility. This will mark a significant step in the brand’s expansion to new global markets, like Europe and the Gulf.
